As usual, the asswipe fails to address the content of the post to whichAs I said Cut-and-lie MM in action.Cut and lie MM in action. The cut was of reams of Biblical quotes of which almost none
related to dating the birth of Jesus, and so was irrelevant to this
discussion. There are no lies - there are opinions that differ from
the sincere and sometimes unthinking faith of others, though.
I summarised the parts that do relate to dates and interleaved them

They’re just so unreliable and disagree with each other on so
many points of “fact†- why, it’s almost as if they were
hearsay accounts of stories told to writers decades after the
events, with recollections that were coloured by hopes and
expectations from Jewish prophecy, and where truth took second
place to inflating the importance of the stories.
There is much to admire in the Bible Dave. As long as you don’t
make the fatal mistake of trying to take it all literally, when in
reality it’s a stitched together fabric of second hand legends
and myths, interspersed with snatches of oral history retold and
embellished from the perspective of, not the winners, but of those
determined to aggrandise their beliefs. And each writer’s beliefs
and aims differed down the centuries.
