This trilogy's plot driven escapism entertained me enough to merit a
second hearing in the near future. It's one of those stories where
the reader (listener) benefits from hindsight.
There's very little character development in it. Readers compare
GOLDEN AGE to: the original Foundation trilogy, Van Vogt, LAST AND FIRST
MEN, Vance, Vinge, and Zelazny:

It's uncanny how the nidar of the GOLDEN AGE's hero's journey shares
situational similarities with the tragic titular character in THE
NARRATIVE OF A. GORDON PYM OF NANTUCKET by Poe. Think: the tropical
version of Hell as depicted in LOGAN'S RUN by Nolan.

The group recently recalled REPLAY by Grimwood. REPLAY ought to serve
as a sufficient snack before GOLDEN AGE is reheard.
