The Revenger triology was interesting. If you're not familiar with
with, the background is out solar system, but greatly transformed long
before. All the planets and other bodies were torn apart and used to
build various habitats in orbit around the sun. Several civilizations
have risen and fallen over the centuries, some to a higher
technological leve than the current one. Artifacts from the various
ages are hidden in various locations. Commerce (and piracy) are based
on light-sail ships.
