I vaguely remembered that name so searched youtube and watched the first
episode. Amazing. Further to recent posts explaining the term "marines"
in relation to the us military, I now have a better understanding.
Doesn't a vice president of some evil empire claim to have such a
background?

  This means it is now

visible to aliens as far away as 6 Ceti.  With crap like that on view,
is it any wonder that they have made no attempt to contact us?  And only
a year later Green Acres came out... just imagine what the folks at
Sirius and Procyon must think of us.
