Yes, the Chinese government is on the warpath to promote Chinese made
phones - and that is where the bulk of Apple's market loss has occurred.

The main cause: iPhone sales in China fell sharply."

Without the Internet, the iPhone is just a dumb brick.
Which is why 85% of smartphones sold are Android devices.

can only have 9 more of similarly astonishing losing quarters, we could
maybe finally be rid of the one smartphone company in the world that has
never had any intention to interoperate with 85% of the phones in this
world (yes, messaging app - I'm speaking to you).

Funny obsession of Android people over Apple's messaging app.

While no Android OEM wholly copied Apple's anti-consumer policy of removing
(or not ever supplying) basic hardware functionality (such as the
appropriate charger, 3.5mm jacks, portable memory, etc), Samsung at the
high end copied Apple's lucrative anti-consumer no-charger policy for its
most expensive phones.

You do know that Apple phones (and iPads and Macs...) support many
competing messaging apps.  To the point that in many large markets (such
as Europe) Apple's iMessage system is scantly used.

For a while I thought you understood how messaging works, but apparently
you don't understand there is only one default SMS/MMS app per device at
any given time.

That you are unaware of something that incredibly basic, is worrisome.

The extent that Apple have improved its own Messages app (and underlying
iMessage infrastructure to support it) for the benefit of Apple clients,
should not irk Android users very much - but it certainly "stimulates"
Android trolls into a lather.

Keeping in mind you are unaware there can only be one default SMS/MMS
messaging app on any device (yes, even on Apple devices)...

There are plenty of Android default messaging apps that do everything that
any Apple device can do, and more, since you can message using ANY device
with Android, whether that's Linux/Windows/Apple/Android, while with the
Apple messaging, you can ONLY message from an Apple device.

That you are unaware of this basic Android capability is worrisome.

And while messaging is indeed a big component of mobile phone use
(people would much rather text than call - and that is a good thing for
90% of communication - ig: "are you here yet?", "Where are you?", "Bring
home some milk."), it is far from the sole use of smartphones.

Nobody said that Apple's rabid anti-consumer policies are the only things
that makes iPhones far less functional than Android phones are.

In short, Android fanatics obsess over attacking Apple and Apple have
been kind to Android fanatics in freely giving them something to obsess
and attack.  Keeps them off of the streets, I suppose.

You're trying to justify Apple's anti-consumer stance on interoperability.

What is being said is Apple's rabid anti-consumer policies mean Apple
devices lack interoperability and they lack common useful interoperable
capabilities which most Android phones have always had and still do.

Apple devices lack
a. Interoperable SMS/MMS messaging (to/from/on any platform!)
b. Interoperable bidirectional data transfer with the PC
c. Interoperable portable memory
d. Interoperable headphone capability
e. Interoperable charging standards (cables & chargers)

Only the richest can afford Apple's rabid anti-consumer policies.
