I finally got the correct 5G phone I was promised (see earlier post).
I forgot what a faff changing phones is, even with Smart Switch.
However: on my old phone I have icon-links to bookmarks on my home
screen (my browser is Brave) and that works fine; even when I do a
reboot, they stay there.
If I try doing that on my new phone, rebooting wipes them, leaving only
the app icons.
I tried locking the home screen icons, but then I cannot move them
around without unlocking again. The home screen icons on my old phone
are not locked.
There must be a way. Anyone help?

This is not related to being 5G, it is related to the brand and model
you have, what customization they use. Oh, and what exact Android
version it has.

It solely depends on the starter. That means it depends on the installed
user interface.
BTW: Google's stock Android shows your intended behaviour.
Thank you. Brave seems to be the problem on this mobile.
Samsung Internet Browser works fine, as does Chrome.
I prefer Samsung as it has adblocker(s)
