 I have the same problem she has, but we've solved it using WhatsApp.

She solved it by using RCS. I don't remember why WhatsApp would not do, so I can not add her reasoning to the conversation. Maybe her correspondents do not have it, maybe some do some don't. But everybody has RCS, or can enable it. Maybe she uses MMS in case RCS fails, but I heard MMS is disabled in Switzerland (all or some companies I dunno).
