30,000 nt is tiny compared to 4,000,000 nt for E. coli or 3,200,000,000 nt
for human. And of course the human genome is double-stranded and diploid so
every call has 12.8G nt - excluding red blood cells which are anuclear. 30k
is basically a rounding error.
