For the past few years, Apple has cheaped out on grossly substandard
battery capacity (such that overall battery life is reduced, by years).
It seems that perhaps with the iPhone 17, Apple is cheaping out again.
Not that anyone will see the money except Apple (who puts it to profit).
Apple resorting to cheap batteries is affecting more than just iPhones.

Never forget, the single most important determinant of overall battery life
(we're talking years, not hours) is the device's original battery capacity.
Hours or years, it makes no difference.
What matters is number of cycles.
And for that power draw is every bit as important has battery capacity.
