It doesn't matter. I've found many other groups where there are more
people who are:
-polite
-humble and/or genuinely subject matter experts (and not snide about it)
-can talk about a shortcoming of iPhones v. Android w/o making it a
black and white battle for the souls of the human race
-broader range of valuable inputs and insights
-no trolls (not very long anyway)
-no moderation delay - but a-holes get ejected within hours if not minutes
So I tell myself at least once per week not to bother coming here ...
and one day (probably soon) I will heed my own advice. And by "here" I
mean usenet (I use about 6 NG's).
A surprising "venue" that I'd never used is Telegram. A local group of
tech enthusiasts use it and I've joined in for a narrow participation
around a particular system. (Très nerd).
I find the Telegram format to be very pleasant. Seems to be moderated
but I don't see moderation occurring.
Reddit is a vast area and it's hard to find "the right place" (I don't
spend enough time on it, so hard to find "the right place").
