I do watch a lot of TV, and still "live", i. e. I see the ad.s (well,
they come on; whether I perceive them is another matter).

I've not been aware of a Microsoft ad. for I think _many_ years. Even
ad.s from PC manufacturers are thin on the ground - again, I don't think
I've seen one for over a year, probably longer. (I'm talking about TV,
poster [US: billboard]), etc.; I'm sure there are plenty in computer
magazines, YouTube. etc. - I mean where the general public would see
them.) About the only even _mention_ of computing devices I see in ad.s
is in those from our one remaining electrical chain, who might mention a
laptop, in the next breath after a washing machine. If they do mention
what version of Windows that laptop is running, though, I haven't
noticed - I think they're more likely (in the few seconds they give to
it) to mention processor, "drive", or RAM.

I _think_ the only "console" I ever had (if you don't count pre-PC home
computers - I had a Tangerine, Oric, Atmos, then BBC) was a cheap "pong"
clone. (Ran on batteries - when they started to run down, the ball went
weird!)
