desktop Linux is also a huge failure.
Nonsense. Desktop Linux works fine for those who want to use it, so it
is certainly not a failure. And Desktop Linux is far from abandoned, the
market share progress every year. It globally very limited but it wasn't
meant to conquer the world, so nothing failed about it.
It's obvious that Linux is for real enthusiasts, Winblows serves the
public need for an OS, but is only one choice to someone like
ourselves. I get what I really desire from Mint, not from M$.
Desktop Linux is damn-near priceless, to many of its users. To many
of them, the offerings of "the big two" don't even come close.

Certainly true for me, Apple is just bonkers, and M$ is bloatware.
Mint may be "bloated" relative to another distro, but not to Winblows.
I didn't wait for Win12 to start taxing my hardware, I flushed Win11 a
year before 12's release, and put Mint on, where it belongs.
