LibreOffice fucking with my app defaults

1) click a file type with a default app and it opens in that app
2) install LibreOffice 24.8.4.2 for Windows (typical install)
3) click a file type (with a default app) that can also be opened by LO
    and now I'm asked which app to open it with
And, all document types that LO handles that were not assigned a default app were assigned to LO without my permission.
LibreOffice: just say no.
