Microsoft Word has always shown to me their programmers' limits. They cannot hack the job well. I think the majority of programmers employed in Microsoft are just smart aleck clutter.
I checked it and dealt with it in early 2000's, and I checked it (and dealt with it) recently. And once more in between those years. They still cannot hack the job when different fonts are involved in its outlining capabilities. It is still a mess, when you hit their limits.
Good programmers aren't "trained", you Bozos. They are born.
I've always had a habit of outlining any text I was studying. This began in high school! I thought it was the jewel that my first class high school had for its students, but in the USA, that ELS language center also taught and stressed it very well.
Of course it used to be done before the advent of editors, by using loose pages of three ring binders, so you could free yourself from strictly page 1, page 2, etc available space, and be able to add and remove papers in between the already fully used ones, and have, say, page 1.a, page 1.a.1, page 1.b.3, page 1.b.2.5, etc.
Then this Microsoft Word dared to program that in 1990s. Today is 2024, and still they haven't been able to do that right. It is beyond their programmers' competence.
Sure, it works for the corporate world because most of those people are just Bozos. Managers' job is how to divide tasks between Bozos, each tiny enough so they can hack it. And behind those managers are the few ones who are _born_ to think out the tasks.
Do you know what I mean by "Bozo"? I mean individuals like you here in COLA. Especially that "true American" one. That's a Bozo right there.
