GNU/Linux is often compared to a car, an elegant sports car at times, but still a car.
This analogy is flat wrong. GNU/Linux is not like a car; rather it is like a airplane.
Most people can easily drive a car. Most people cannot easily fly an airplane.
Airplanes are for the technical elite. To fly, one must know aerodynamics, navigation, meteorolgy, etc. or you will not be allowed to operate an airplane, private or otherwise.
