I guess it depends on how big a net you use for 'same thing'. While I like
the Triumph Bonneville when you get down to performance, seating position,
and so forth it is very similar to my Sportster. However it isn't the same
thing as the DR650 sitting next to it

I've got similar redundancy in computers, firearms, and musical
instruments. A six string acoustic is not the same as a 12 string or a Les
Paul electric.
