I had also installed Linux Mint on my mom's computer because she
didn't want to upgrade to Windows 10, but she complained it was
slow. Unfortunately, what she has is a very old Dell Optiplex. It
was definitely faster than what Windows 10+ would've been but still
slow for her browser games. It's sad how demanding modern
applications are but I'll get her a better computer soon.
They need an excuse for all of us to buy new hardware and keep

I really like I2P which was based on Freenet. It can do many of the
services that seems to strive towards.
