Posting with a Linux optimized beyond the defaults is very on-topic,
since you CAN'T DO THAT WITH WINDERS(!).
Why do you have to turn it up to 11? What was wrong with 10?
Because 11 is faster than 10. Vroom!
(Actually, truth be told, I can't tell the difference.)
What was wrong with the kernel you had in March, that you've already
replaced 3 or 4 times?
It's not the latest from Linus.
Why are you so dissatisfied with Linux that you have to constantly
update it?
"Have you stopped beating your wife?"
Seriously though, I'm not "dissatisfied" with it,
just seeing how the newest stable kernel compiles and runs.
Who knows? I might spot another bug and once again, contribute
to Linux.
BTW: since I can't really tell any difference between the "-O2" and
"-O3 -march=native" kernels, I'm probably not going to do that
trick for the next iteration.
Aliens movie : "Let's rock!!!"
GuhNoo adherents: "Let's tinker!!!"
Cute, but that makes no sense in this context.
