Laptops are an enigma to me, yeah, I see why one would want it, to sit
on the couch with a real computer, but it's just undoable for me, I can
use my phone as a portable computer, but for real work I need my desk

the MacBook models are a nice option, having the non-Intel/AMD stuff,
but that's beginning to be available in PC models as well, so as long as
I could boot Linux, that'd be the choice.
You don't travel much, do you? At home my laptop is plugged into the KVM
along with the other computers but when I'm on the road it serves. I do
usually carry one of those little mice. I hate trackpads and all their
relatives.
