When I was a kid in school what got thrown into the melting pot were white
Europeans. Until 1965 that was how the immigration laws were structured.
The deep south was segregated de jure and the north was segregated de

Ashley Montagu, nee Israel Ehrenberg, had only begun to spread the 'race
is a social construct' lie in 'Man's Most Dangerous Myth: the Fallacy of
Race.' He authored the UNESCO proclamations on race almost
singlehandedly. He also wrote 'The Natural Superiority of Women'.
Meanwhile Boas was destroying anthropology. I have the chronology wrong
since Ruth Benedict, Boas' student, was Montagu's thesis supervisor for
his doctorate at Columbia.
