I've built the latest release candidate kernel, and booted it in a
virtual machine.

Compiles without errors, and 10 warnings, all except one being
-Wframe-larger-than 1024.
I did boot this one on bare metal, also, but wasn't able to get either
the release or the beta NVIDIA drivers to build on them. (I didn't
expect them to work, as NVIDIA says they only support released kernels
with their drivers. But sometimes, they do start working early.)
I usually leave these rc kernels running in a virtual machine, and see
if any background processes generate messages in dmesg. So far doing
this, I've only come up with one bug, which on looking it up I ended up
testing a fix, which ended up in the next rc kernel, and is now in the
6.14 series and later. ("I'm helping!" ;) )
Built the "linux-next" kernel based on the one above, booted it on
my virtual machine.

Not sure why it took so much longer to build than previous kernels.
