Something weird happened today. I was watching a YouTube product review on
my computer and my wife walked in and asked if my Internet was down. "No,
it's working fine." Her computer was down. I checked it was connecting to
the WiFi and the the Ethernet cable tested working, but no Internet traffic.
Then our daughter (on the phone) mentioned her Quantum Fiber was also down,
not just for Windows, but for Android, Mac, iOS and ChromeOS. And yet it was
up for me running Linux Mint. Full speed, over 500 mbps both up and down. I
told my wife (and our daughter) to try the Roku TV since it runs on Linux.
Working fine. I checked my ATA for Voip phone service (runs on Linux), up and
running. So, in short EVERYTHING not Linux was down. Everything running Linux
was up. This went on for about two hours. That tells me that somebody shut
off the spigot but forgot about Linux. So was this a manufactured service
drop?
If someone has another explanation, I would appreciate hearing it.
Once again Linux proves its superiority.
