Its so radically different that I cant be arsed to go through a learning curve on something I don't need right now

   to cover it for a really long time. Maybe by

    "Backwards-compatible", in this case, means the
   software/drivers automatically appending a ".000"
   to detected IPV4 addresses without user intervention.
