My take is that even with the best intentions, which is debatable, the problems that were so clearly expressed in the run up to the elections are not that easy to fix. Not at all.
Like Climate, the economy is a very complex interconnected brute that defies modelling, and you tamper at your peril.

   By far, MOST people never got much of a sci-tech education.
   This includes politicians. They JUST DON'T KNOW ... and then
