No one gets to be POTUS without owing a lot of favours....
The key is not that there may be "puppet strings" (as you say, that's

The key is determining to whom those puppet strings connect, and which
ones, when pulled by the holder, result in movement of the puppet.
And that information is *way harder* to suss out from the publicly
available information.
Indeed it is. So many people started behaving strangely when the Ukraine war started to go badly against Putin...
I mean why *wouldn't* every nation have fully infiltrated every other, bought the politicians and the media...funded subversive organisations...
Russia has been an enemy of the west since Putin, and WWIII has been raging for 20 years.
Russia funds the hard left AND the hard right. Why not? Its aim isn't to spread any ideology. All it aims to do is spread discontent envy and hatred.
