How is it not "well understood"?
Any actor seriously thinking about space exploration must leverage
computationaly heavy AI tools. Ping to mars is 4h. Can't do anything
remotely sitting in Dallas.
One wonders how have operators been doing things with probes on Mars and
beyond... for years now.
It almost sounds like you want to paint this as needing "GenAI". In
fact, once you have a higher RTT, you probably want to avoid anything
that's not well defined. Anything that could cause a disaster which you
won't hear about until after that RTT has elapsed.
I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
