println!() would be a show stopper for me. Why everybody has to come up
with their special snowflake function to write to the console is beyond
me. Won't even go into cout << "hello world" << endl;

 
"println" (without the !) makes me think someone was very much a Pascal
disciple (with it's write/writeln) for output.

So in one swell foop they manage to confuse C and Java people (printf), Go
people (Printf), Pascal people (writeln), C# people (WriteLine), Python
people (print), Javascript people (log), Fortran people (write) and
probably other languages I'm not familiar with.

Then there is fn, function, func, def, and a few others. I hate languages
that are sort of like other languages but not quite. At least JavaScript
doesn't get its knickers in a knot over semicolons, altohugh its casual
approach to ' and " burns me when I use not so casual languages.
