Denver Police Department Hands Out Free AirTags

IMHO completely OT in these groups and an X-posting of the worst kind.
??
What is exactely your question in one sentence?
Public service?
If my local police did the same, and I had a pinchable car, I'd go and get one?
OTH, why does it have to be an Apple air tag?
"Find My" apple network compatible tags (e.g. Eufy) are less than half the price and work well.
It doesn't have to be an Apple AirTag. Being an Apple news website, the article's headline only says Apple AirTag, but the article itself did say that the Denver police are giving out either an Apple AirTag *or* a SmartTag (which is the Samsung equivalent).
