Yes, though YA-NW ended after the developer Brian Clark, had created
Thoth, which became a popular Mac shareware newsreader.
Thoth, although good, being a time limited $$trialware didn't really
appeal to me, when MT-NW was easily as good (and free). I didn't see
the advantage.
There was also a short-lived VA-NewsWatcher (Value Added-NewsWatcher)
but it didn't develop much further than beyond it's initial release.
There is also Newswatcher-X cerated by the original Newswatcher developer, which (like Thoth) runs under early versions of MacOS X or can run under MacOS 9 with CarbonLib.
