Thanks. I'm using MT-NW now, v2.4.4, and the preferences are quite
different to YA-NW, and simpler for it. Setting to "Thread by reference"
has given me correctly nested articles in threads, something I've simply
been unable to achieve in YA-NW. I will take another look just to be sure
I haven't simply missed that setting, though...
In NewsWatcher - options for re-reading or keeping read articles:
1). Open the group from the full group list instead of from your user
group list. The full group list always shows all of the available
articles on your server, whether you have read them or not.
2). In your user group list window. Use the Mark Unread command in
the News menu to mark the entire group unread. Open the group.
i.e.; Command + U = Mark Unread
OK, that's the way I've been doing it when I've wanted to find an older
article I've already read. Only downside is that everything is, of course,
then marked unread. I'm sure there good reasons at the time for their to
not need to be a simple "Keep Read Posts" option, but it's somewhat
bizarre to me!
I'm going to keep using MT-NW for a while, see how I like it. It doesn't
feel a million miles away from YA-NW, as to be expected, but if proper
threading isn't ever going to be an option in YA-NW, then I'll be sticking
with MT.
