If there's only a "renew" option then there is no current
subscription via Apple. You must have bought it via a different
method.

No, I did not use different method and there was no family member
involved.  But luckily I just discovered today in my bank account
that the amount was refunded. So, I assume I also was a victim of the
bank’s malfunction described in the article I posted here earlier. I
wonder if it was due to some sophisticated hacker attack against the
bank.

Has anybody seen an Apple announcement about this false charge fiasco
in Hungary? Because I haven’t. It was only reported by the Hungarian
Central Bank and media. Strange.

The incident was due to a technical glitch at the international bank
card partner of Apple's online store rather than a glitch in Apple's
systems:

I understand, but Apple’s bank partner is still considered as agent of
Apple, and thus would call for announcing the problem first by them, not by
the Hungarian National Bank. Instead, Apple sits there quietly like shit in
the grass.
