You'll rarely see me comment on most of Trump's statements & actions, most
of which I find as embarrassingly absurd as Apple's brazen lies... However... on this topic of a government "renaming" a strategic locale... Russia, for example, is intent on renaming North America to "Ango-Saxon
America" in its textbooks - which will reinforce Russian propaganda.

It's not only Russia that characterizes the world as Ango-Saxon controlled.

China wants the naming conventions of the Pacific Ocean to indicate Chinese
influence and control in the same way Trump and Putin are by renaming seas.

Unfortunately, if it gets into the textbooks, which, I'm sure it does for
the Russian & Chinese renaming of strategic locations, it gets set in stone (because the worth of a country is mainly in the education of its kids).
The sad fact is, especially knowing how pernicious Apple's (brilliant)
propaganda is, propaganda is effective in molding kids' beliefs systems
(e.g., kids don't know Apple's support is the worst in the industry).
