Hi we have a group email and one lady uses AOL Mail and instead of her
replies starting with "Re" they start with "Reply" so her msgs don't get
included in the thread with every body else's, its like she started a
new thread.

Is there any setting I can change in Apple Mail to see a "Reply" msg the
same as a "Re" msg? Or does any body know of a setting in AOL Mail that
we can ask her to change? Email is supposed to use "Re" right?? Thank you.

Email is supposed to include an "In-Reply-To:" header that should be used
to build the thread tree. The subject-line should not be necessary for
threading.

Correct. I have correspondents in other countries with different prefixes
for "Re:" yet the emails thread just fine.

I have no idea though if AOL or AppleMail messes that up for you.

It could be Apple Mail. I have one person who uses Apple Mail and their
responses always come as an attachment and often not in the thread.
Sounds like a user problem.

I use Apple Mail and it works just fine.

Sure it does!
