 My mother is one of the original AOL members and refuses to change
accounts. Her replies to my Gmail account are threaded and remain part of
the conversation, not separate emails.
 I suspect your AOL user is creating a new message when replying.
 

Haha about your mom I think this lady is like that she doesn't want to move to something more modern than AOL!
But I don't think she's making a new msg b'cuz the rest of the subject line is the same as our original message and also our original msg is at the bottom of her reply.
