Back in the 50's/60's as 'represented' in the show) weird things were being done on motorbikes .... like "Evil" Knievel jumping Canyons, chains of Cara/Buses, etc.
Why is such a "big" thing made about 'jumps the shark'??
Because many felt that the particular episode marked the beginning of the decline and end of the show.
