  I think what we call 'woke' is just a symptom of a larger issue.
To critically analyze information and make sound judgements takes brains and guts.  Somehow, I think people have less of those these days.
So... they end up being 'followers'. They are gullible and are easily convinced to join various splinter groups that are vying for power.
They let others do their thinking for them.
Another example is the Tom Swift TV series.
The actual Tom Swift character was modest, brilliant, conservative, and married with a young son that later followed in his footsteps to also become an inventor.
In the movie, he was portrayed as a gay billionaire playboy.  The complete opposite of the actual character.
And I see the same degradation in the new Star Trek episodes.
Lots of this junk comes out of Hollywood.  No surprise as Los Angeles is ground zero for Liberalism and Wokeness in the USA.
