longer interests him, surely he could make use of BBC's iView (or
whatever it's called) to watch other T.V. programs .... like 'The Bill'

Minder and The Bill won’t be on the BBC iPlayer for obvious reasons.
 
And I don’t think there’s enough demand to make Z Cars
available. (Anyway all those working class northern characters
probably aren’t to Aggy’s taste!)
 
Besides, Aggy believes that the BBC’s modern-day flaws can
somehow contaminate his perception of older programmes.
That’s why he refuses to rewatch any William Hartnell episodes
of DW. He thinks they’ve been infected by The Timeless
Child!
