How old is he again? 2000? 3000? How old was she? How can a relationship with such an age gap be appropriate?

 That would pretty much rule out any relationships for the Doctor, since female Time Lords are few and far between, unless you want
him to have a bromance with the Master, which doesn't bear thinking
about.

 There shouldn't be any romance for the Doctor in Doctor Who. He's already been a father and grandfather so doesn't need to have a
sexual or romantic relationship with anyone unless it's to produce
children, which means with members of his own species.
 

But (RL) isn't the basic purpose of Sexual Intercourse (forget Rape, etc.), yet WE Humans do it .... over and over again, just for Pleasure??
Why one Rule for RL and another Rule for SF/TV??
