Wars franchise... multiple mediocre movies, hated by the fans...
multiple spin-offs... hated by the fans... a Jane Bond
mini-series exclusive to Prime Video subscribers... (etc.)
 I could see a day when "James Bond isn't himself" and "REtcon
James Bond" become the war cries of Bond fandom!
