I think it’s sort of interesting how the first three episodes of
this season parallel the three of the previous one.
 
1. A very quirky (or silly depending on your POV) space opera-ish
tale that’s the weakest of the three.
 
2. A pseudohistorical with an evil, light entertainment-based
god and a fourth wall break.
 
3. A serious, dark drama featuring space soldiers on a planet where
the villain isn’t what it first seems.
 

4. A Doctor-lite episode featuring a lot of Ruby Sunday
stopping a fanatical bad man.

But it looks like the trend will break next week.
