distribution of "Doctor Who" to Ireland .... or is that only
to Northern Ireland??

Not exactly, but close. BBC1 is available in all of Ireland and
has been since forever... so anyone could watch Doctor Who on
BBC1 as broadcast at whatever time it is shown. The thing you
are on about is the streaming deal which allowed [delayed]
streaming of Doctor Who S1/14 on RTE's "RTE Player" because the
BBC's iPlayer service is only [legally] available to people
within the UK.

So despite the much publicised BBC/Disney "exclusive" deal for
Doctor Who I can turn on the RTE Player this afternoon and
re-watch any episode of the RTD 2.0 era.

Incidentally, on the RTE Player Ncuti Gatwa's first season is
listed as Doctor Who "Season 24"  and the four 2023 special
episodes are listed as "Season 23"...
