Martha Jones from series 3 and 4 (2007-2008), played by Freema Agyeman. She
married Mickey Smith (Rose’s boyfriend from series 1-2) when he returned
from the parallel universe he had stayed in in series 2 to replace his dead
alternate Ricky in the recovery from their Cyberman incursion, and see his
beloved grandmother (dead, in the main universe) for a while longer.

Dr Jones was affiliated with Torchwood and UNIT - I bet she’s still working
with UNIT, it’s the general refuge for abandoned waifs and strays in the
Whoniverse now - Kate Stewart will look after anyone who ever knew the
Doctor, or so it seems.

Why Dave assumes Dr Jones would change her name to Smith, or Jones-Smith, I
don’t know. In Britain it’s quite common for female doctors to keep their
maiden names when they marry - that’s the name on all their qualifications,
after all. I’m sure she’s still Martha Jones.
