 Martha Jones from series 3 and 4 (2007-2008), played by Freema

working with UNIT, it’s the general refuge for abandoned waifs and
strays in the Whoniverse now - Kate Stewart will look after anyone
who ever knew the Doctor, or so it seems.
 Why Dave assumes Dr Jones would change her name to Smith, or
Jones-Smith, I don’t know. In Britain it’s quite common for female
doctors to keep their maiden names when they marry - that’s the name
on all their qualifications, after all. I’m sure she’s still Martha
Jones.
 

O.K., so I don't recall her having married Mickey Smith (over there) .... so the '-Smith' just seemed soooo out of place.
