The True loon totally tried not to look out from his own little
world:
Today's episode of House of the Dragon was a very good episode.
The Turkish Detective was all good. No degenerate workery in either
of them.
The Turkish Detective? A show where most of the characters are
non-British Muslims? If they tried making Doctor Who like that you
would be the first to complain about degenerate wokery!
And, Solar Penguin, did you notice The Turkish Detective show is,
apparently, set in China?? Why else would they have called the series
'House of the Dragon'??
Is Turkey trying to take over Chinese Culture or something?? Or
Vice-Versa?? Something I would have thought Aggy would be all grumpy
about .... or is he grumping down about that in another newsgroup??
That’s two series Daniel. House of the Dragon is a Game of Thrones prequel
and stars (obWho) Matt Smith. As for not being woke, they deliberately made
one of the key families black for added diversity (the Velaryons) which is
internally odd as they are close cousins to the (white) Targaryens.
The Turkish Detective is an easy-watching cosy detective drama. Doubtless
Aggie approves of its treatment of women, which is why he thinks it’s not
woke - the undercurrent of showing how awfully women are regarded in
Türkiye is probably something he’s missed because its subtext and he barely
understands text.
He doesn’t understand what woke really means - and when woke awareness is
pervasive he misses it completely because he thinks the show is approving
of attitudes and behaviours that it’s actually highlighting as poor.
