Americanisms shouldn't count... especially ones from the 1960's
that normal people don't use in 2024!!!
 

It’s not an Americanism. Or an Australianism. It’s an English saying of
great antiquity. Quick means living (Old English “cwic”) as in the other
well-known saying “the quick and the dead”. “Cut to the quick” means to
hurt very deeply - and I’ve heard it used, but not often or by anyone under
40ish unless they were performing an older work.
