Sitting here watching "Grace" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11639300/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 starring John Simm, previously seen as The Master.
"Grace" is an okay TV series, but it pointlessly keeps bringing up the on-going storyline of his missing wife, especially since it is only thrown in occasionally as an "oh, we forgot to mention it" snippets, usually at the end of each episode. The 90min episodes are also too long. One hour is enough.
Yeah, early on a woman seems to be chatting him up (on a 'date' in a restaurant) and he seemed to be a career Batchelor .... but, then later, he's got a dead wife.
I missed the swap-over!
Grace has a wife who went missing a couple of years before the first episode, and is now presumed dead. At one point he was suspected of murdering her (with the investigators even digging up his back garden looking for the body). But it's all just a side-story that is barely mentioned, so should really simply not have been put in at all. It feels like an unnecessary token to appease people who like long story arcs.
