In these newsgroups, different people use different NYMs, like my 'Daniel70', Gobble-de-gooks' 'The Master', errrr I mean 'The Doctor', various other 'Doctors' or, even, 'Blueshirt'.
One Nym I had wondered about was 'Agamemnon'. Was that user of Greek decence?? Did he live in Greece?? Did he just live in the past?? WHY 'Agamemnon'??
Last night I watched a Deco on the laying of the First Trans-Atlantic cable back in the 1850's and one of the Ships employed in this task was the HMS Agamemnon .... after it had seen service in the Crimean War.
