The new BBC1 drama Moonflower Murders features DW’s Mark

Parris is murdered in the first episode.
Technically yes, but the show (and its previous prequel "The Magpie Murders") uses flashbacks and constantly switches to a previous era with the same actors playing different characters, so Gattis does appear in later episodes too.
Of course, the whole point of a murder mystery show is that someone gets murdered and the show is all about finding out who did it and why.
