I don't need to guess anything. I can spell [well, sometimes]
compose sentences properly, trim quotes, use filters... as
well as having the ability to killfile somebody. So I am
happy enough with my powers.

You OTOH... run an ISP and your own news server, you don't
follow any established Usenet netiquette whatsoever... plus
you type posts like a cat walking across a keyboard. So if
you feel that's more powerful, great! Carry on then...

So what is nettiquette?

Good behaviour guidelines, as in...respectful and appropriate
communication on the internet. As the CEO of an ISP you should
know exactly what it is. But of course, you just do your own
thing anyway.

Maybe you should e-mail this link out to your three customers...

Did YOU, Gobble-de-gook,even bother to READ that net page??

Point ONE ... Read news.announce.newusers before you start posting
messages. This newsgroup will fill you in on the history of the usenet,
some of the newsgroups that are available, and the *rules* of etiquette.
Most of the items mentioned below are explained there.

RULES, Gobble-de-gook, not Guidelines!!
So explain September?
Well, there are groups of Days throught out the 'year' that are grouped into 'months' and, back in the Days of "Julius Ceasar" (or there-abouts), the Seventh of those months of the Yearly cycle was named "September" after the seventh Roman Numeral.
Remember, back in the day, the year started with the (Northern Hemisphere) start of Spring, the March Equinox.
