Last Night’s episode of the BBC2 quiz Only Connect was a
BBC-themed special. One of the questions was what links these:
 
* Queen Victoria knighted him then banished him
* Queen Elizabeth I married him then called for his head
* King Richard I knighted one of his companions
* King James fought mud monsters with her
 
(The contestants thought it was either Blackadder or Baldrick!)
 

A later question in the same episode was to name anything that
can come next in this sequence:

* ’1 Songs of Praise

* ’2 Steptoe and Son

* ’3 Doctor Who

* ? ? ?

(It’s BBC TV shows which started in those years in the sixties,
so any show from 1964 would do. This time I didn’t get it;
I got distracted by Steptoe and DW and thought it was Ron
Grainer themes!)
